![]() | Merit Badge The Merit Badge may be awarded to exceptional cadets that have demonstrated high standards of conduct, appearance, attitude and attendance. The Corps Commanding Officer may award one merit badge for every 15 cadets in the corps. |
![]() | First Aid Awarded to cadets that have successfully completed the First Aid portion of the Training Program, or a similar course (at the CO's discretion). Cadets who have completed St. John Ambulance or Red Cross First Aid Courses may wear those badges instead. |
![]() | Boatwork This badge may be worn by any cadet that has completed the Boatwork portion of the training program. |
![]() | Marksmanship The Marksmanship Badge may be worn by any cadet who demonstrates range safety and can shoot 10 targets with a score of 50 or more on each target. |
![]() | Sailing The sailing badge may be worn by any cadet that has completed a CYA Sailing Level. |

Badge Placement
![]() | Badge Placement Skill badges are worn on the right sleeve, below the elbow. Any two of the Sailing, Boatwork, Semaphore and Marksman badges can be worn on the right sleeve, directly above the cuff. If only one skill badge is being worn, it is worn in the front spot. |
![]() | First Aid is the most important skill you can learn as a Navy League Cadet, so the First Aid badge gets a special spot, cantered 1cm above the other two spots. |
![]() | Award Badges The Award Badges denote special achievement as a Navy League Cadet, so they are placed highest. If the cadet does not have a First Aid badge, it is worn in that spot. If a cadet does have First Aid, the Merit Badge or Excellence Badge is worn 1 cm above it. Only one Award Badge may be worn. |
